Noord Holland sponsors SAIL for the fourth time

The Dutch province of Noord Holland has agreed to sponsor SAIL Amsterdam 2020, the fourth time a in a row that the province has teamed up with the biggest free event in the Netherlands.

Given that 2.3 million visitors are expected to attend, the province is also focusing on ensuring good accessibility during the five-day event. In addition, the province is sponsoring the #SAILHero project, which encourages youngsters to come up with solutions for climate change.

‘We want to make sure everyone can see the ships and experience the boat parade,’ says Jack van der Hoek, the executive in charge of economics and sponsoring at the province. ‘So we will use our experience, expertise and resources to manage the stream of visitors. And we will also encourage everyone to come by bike.’
