SAIL volunteers will be wearing Tommy Hilfiger

PVH, the parent company of US clothing brand Tommy Hilfiger, has signed up to sponsor SAIL Amsterdam 2020, and is providing clothing for all 2,000 volunteers as part of the agreement.

PVH, which also includes Calvin Klein in its stable, came on board after a request from Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema. PVH is headquartered in the Dutch capital.

The volunteer outfits will largely come from existing Tommy Hilfiger collections as part of a contribution to the key SAIL theme of sustainability.  ‘We believe in giving something back to the communities in which we work,’ says Daniel Grieder, chief executive of Tommy Hilfiger Global. ‘Amsterdam has been our home for more than two decades and we can celebrate that in a very special way through our partnership with SAIL.’
