Located on the water by the Oosterdok, opposite the NEMO Science Museum and next to the Scheepvaartmuseum, Arcam (Architecture Center Amsterdam) offers a distinctive and stylish place as a boarding location for your cruise aboard a classic salon boat during SAIL Amsterdam 2025. Designed by René van Zuuk, the building is not only an architectural landmark, but also fully accessible - including elevator and disabled toilet.

Reception & boarding process

The final reception and departure times have been determined. Please note that these may differ from the times stated on your order confirmation. This may be due to port layout or coordination with authorities, for example. The receipt time on your boarding pass is the time you are expected at Arcam.

Your ticket gives you access to the Arcam building. Upon arrival, your ticket will be scanned at the entrance down by the dock. There you will be welcomed and can enjoy a drink in a relaxed setting while you wait for boarding time.

At the venue, boarding times are communicated via the screens present. Once it is time to board, you will be escorted to the ship by a hostess. This way we ensure a smooth and relaxed departure.

 

Parking and accessibility

We encourage our guests to travel by bicycle, public transportation or bus whenever possible.

Public transport and shuttle bus

Arcam is easy to reach by public transport. From Amsterdam Central Station it is about a 10-minute walk to the pick-up location. There is no shuttle bus needed or available for this location. From Amsterdam Centraal you will already encounter various SAIL decor on your route to Arcam.

Bus transportation

If you come by organized bus, there is a public bus spot to drop off and pick up guests at the Scheepvaartmuseum near the ships (about 5 min walk). For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the City website https://www.amsterdam.nl/verkeer-vervoer/touringcar/.

Bicycle, e-bike, scooter and kiss & ride zone

Coming from the nearby ? Arcam is centrally located in the city and is easily accessible by bicycle or scooter. There are various bicycle staples and parking facilities for two-wheelers in the immediate vicinity.
For cabs or kiss & ride, you can use the Oosterdokskade.

By car

There is no parking directly at Arcam. We advise guests coming by car to park near the RAI Amsterdam. You can easily reserve a parking ticket in advance via https://parkeren.rai.nl/nl/booking/period.html.

The cost is €25 including VAT per parking ticket.

From the RAI, take metro 52 (7 minutes) or metro 51 (15 minutes) to Amsterdam Central Station, from where you can walk to the pick-up location. From Amsterdam Centraal it is a 10-minute walk to Arcam.
