Boarding point

SAIL Village Westhaven

Information

SAIL Village is the central reception area for all guests participating in an official cruise during SAIL Amsterdam. Upon arrival, your ticket will be scanned here and you can explore the grounds at your convenience before boarding. A dedicated reception desk is available for business guests who have booked an entire ship.

The grounds are fully handicap accessible; there are no stairs or high thresholds and a disabled toilet is available. There is also a first aid station on site for medical support.

At SAIL Village, you can pay by PIN and there is an opportunity to purchase a souvenir at the official SAIL Shop. Here you will find a selection of maritime clothing, accessories and memories of your day on the water.

SAIL Village is the starting point of your cruise - both convenient and attractive.

Reception & boarding process

The final reception and departure times have now been determined. Please note that these may differ from the times stated on your confirmation. This may be due, for example, to parade order, port layout or coordination with authorities. The arrival time on your boarding pass is the time you are expected at SAIL Village.

Your ticket gives you access to the SAIL Village. Upon arrival, your ticket will be scanned at the entrance. You can then explore the grounds at your leisure and soak up the atmosphere.

In SAIL Village, boarding times are communicated via screens on the grounds. As soon as it is time to board, you will be expected at the gate. There, a hostess will receive you and escort you to the ship. This way we ensure a smooth and relaxed departure.

Parking and accessibility

Public transportation and shuttle bus

We encourage our guests to travel by public transportation whenever possible. A shuttle bus runs from Amsterdam Sloterdijk station for all SAIL Village visitors - fast, comfortable and hassle-free.

The shuttle buses depart on a regular basis from the north side of the station and take you comfortably and quickly to the event area. The travel time is about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure you get off the right bus, there are two, SAIL Village Westhaven and SAIL Village Amerikahaven. Where you should be is listed on your boarding pass.

  • Shuttle buses run daily from three hours before your boarding time begins until one hour after it ends.
  • You do not need a special ticket for the shuttle bus; your boarding pass is sufficient.
  • On site, follow signage and directions from staff for boarding location.

Bus transportation

If you have arranged or registered a bus through SAIL, you will receive a bus pass that allows the bus access to the site. The bus cannot remain parked on the SAIL grounds during the cruise.

Bike, e-bike, scooter and kiss & ride zone

Are you coming from the neighborhood? Then of course you can come by bike, e-bike or scooter. Ample bicycle parking is available on site. There is also a kiss & ride zone for cabs or if you are being dropped off. There is no e-bike charging point.

Own car?

Would you rather take your own car? You can. There is a limited number of parking spaces available at SAIL Village. For this you need a parking ticket. You can buy these through our website. You can buy these via our webshop at the bottom of this page.

Please note that there are no charging points for electric cars on or right next to the event site. We recommend planning an alternative charging location outside the area in advance. Public charging stations nearby have limited availability during busy days.
