Boudragon

Ocean Racing Yacht

The BOUdragon is an impressive 20-meter ocean racing yacht with a rich history. Formerly known as Silk Cut, this yacht made its mark during the prestigious Whitbread Round the World Race. One of its highlights was setting a 24-hour monohull distance record of 449.1 nautical miles in 1997, with an impressive average speed of 18.71 knots. Hans Bouscholte acquired the yacht to use it for Holland Ocean Racing. Renamed and fully refitted thanks to Bolsius, the BOUdragon has been upgraded to modern standards, making it both competitive and safe by today’s requirements. The combination of historical significance and advanced performance makes this a truly exceptional yacht for ocean racing enthusiasts.

On July 30, 2025, the BOUdragon finished third in the RORC Rolex Fastnet Race 2025, IRC Zero, and Holland Ocean Racing was awarded the title of “Best Sailing School.”
