Pogoria
Sail training for young people
The Pogoria is a Polish barquentine that was launched in Poland in 1980. She has a length of 48 meters. This ship is also a regular participant in the Tall Ships Races and other international events. Sail training for young people is the real goal of this ship, they can have a maximum of 50 people on board during sailing trips.
On July 7, 2009, two masts broke from the Pogoria while they were on their way to St.Petersburg. The 37 young people on board were taken off board with helicopters, because the ship’s machines had also suffered damage. She experienced fearful moments, but fortunately nobody was injured.
She is fully recovered and in full speed again and participated with great pride in SAIL Amsterdam 2015!
