The Vrijbuiter, Green Enjoyment on the Water

The Vrijbuiter sails a green and creative course. The ship embodies the enjoyment of freedom on the water and the beauty of nature. It also serves as a place to connect people, share experiences, and work together in an inspiring way toward sustainable solutions.

Sustainability is at the heart of the Vrijbuiter. Since spring 2023, the ship has been equipped with an electric engine, an innovative step within the charter fleet. The ambition is to run this engine entirely on self-generated energy from solar panels, wind turbines, and a regenerating propeller. Catering is also sustainably organized, with local and organic products, in collaboration with slow food organizations. Together with the Province of Zeeland, new forms of eco-tourism are being developed.

The Vrijbuiter demonstrates that green entrepreneurship and enjoyment go hand in hand. The ship is a clear example of how the journey to a cleaner future can be combined with adventure and meaningful experiences on the water.
