Two-Masted Clipper Lutgerdina, Stronger Together on the IJsselmeer

Lutgerdina is an authentic two-masted clipper from 1890 and one of the few classic ships in the Netherlands that has been fully adapted for people with disabilities. From its home port of Enkhuizen, Lutgerdina makes adventurous voyages across the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea.

On board, everything revolves around teamwork, pushing boundaries, and experiencing freedom. Participants hoist the sails together, take the helm, and become part of the crew. Thanks to extensive adaptations, such as a lift to the deck, accessible sanitary facilities, and height-adjustable beds, the ship is accessible to almost everyone, including wheelchair users.

The name Lutgerdina is a tribute to the original ship, which was named after the wife of its first owner. In the 1990s, SailWise had the vessel completely modernized while preserving the charm of a traditional clipper.

Lutgerdina shows that everyone can set sail and share in a truly unique adventure.

Finy Teitsma has been sailing with SailWise for 40 years.
