The events industry is committed to a progressive evolution, aiming to accelerate innovations that address significant urban challenges. In this pursuit, SAIL 2025 serves as a model of innovation and an embodiment of future visions. Events are seen as catalysts in the societal transition towards sustainability.
SAIL Amsterdam works closely with a wide range of partners, including technology companies, sustainability organizations, urban planners, architects, and research institutes, to push the boundaries of what is possible and realize a sustainable future.
The expedition begins by exploring the challenges faced by modern cities. Major urban issues such as climate change, mobility, and social inclusion are examined. SAIL Amsterdam's partners bring their expertise, innovative ideas, and technological ingenuity together to find creative solutions to these complex problems.
SAIL Lab
In the SAIL Lab, a new form of education called the Living Lab is used to investigate and test partners' questions and issues within society. Here, young people from various educational levels and disciplines collaborate to conduct interdisciplinary and multilevel research. This gives students the opportunity to develop teamwork and professional relationship skills, while the project can be practically tested within the community. By working together with other educational programs, students experience how to collaborate on social issues and learn to work in an intercultural context. This helps them develop skills that enable them to bring together different parties to solve societal problems.
In the SAIL Lab, young people have the chance to discover new future pathways that they can take into their professional careers. In their research within the SAIL Lab, students use the "Positive Provocations" research method, which is tested, among others, by Inholland University of Applied Sciences through the SAIL Lab.
